{"id":1125,"date":"2013-04-20T16:22:53","date_gmt":"2013-04-20T21:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.familytidings.com\/blog\/?p=1125"},"modified":"2013-04-20T16:23:59","modified_gmt":"2013-04-20T21:23:59","slug":"upgrading-verizon-galaxy-nexus-from-cyanogenmod-10-to-10-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.familytidings.com\/blog\/?p=1125","title":{"rendered":"Upgrading Verizon Galaxy Nexus from CyanogenMod 10 to 10.1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Note, this isn&#8217;t the most direct way to update, it&#8217;s only the path I followed.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Start ROM Manager<\/li>\n<li>Boot into recovery<\/li>\n<li>Select Backup and Restore, then Backup<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.familytidings.com\/blog\/?p=897\">Copy the backup to your computer<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Download a <a href=\"http:\/\/download.cyanogenmod.com\/?device=toro\">CyanogenMod 10.1<\/a> M release (I used M3)<\/li>\n<li>Run <code>adb push cm-10.1-20130411-EXPERIMENTAL-toro-M3.zip\u00c2\u00a0\/sdcard\/.<\/code><\/li>\n<li>On the phone, select &#8220;wipe cache&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>On the phone, select &#8220;install zip from sdcard&#8221;, &#8220;choose zip from sdcard&#8221;, select update.zip above.<\/li>\n<li>Reboot.  Don&#8217;t freak out when your WiFi or Mobile connection indicators don&#8217;t turn blue.  Until the Google apps are updated below, your phone won&#8217;t be able to connect to the Google servers.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/+CyanogenMod\/posts\/YwQYMAaZfkk\">Check your mobile network setting<\/a> (I didn&#8217;t need to change this.)\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/android.stackexchange.com\/questions\/37270\/do-i-need-to-wipe-when-upgrading-from-cm10-to-cm10-1\">Fix the clock<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Download the updated <a href=\"http:\/\/goo.im\/gapps\">Google applications<\/a>\n<li>Reboot into recovery<\/li>\n<li>Run <code>adb push gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip\u00c2\u00a0\/sdcard\/0\/.<\/code> (Note the path is different for Android 4.2!)<\/li>\n<li>Load with &#8220;install zip from sdcard&#8221; as above<\/li>\n<li>Wipe the cache<\/li>\n<li>Reboot.  Until you reinstall Gmail and Sound Search, you&#8217;ll get occasional messages they&#8217;ve crashed.  That&#8217;s OK.<\/li>\n<li>Sign in to Google.  If you have 2-step authentication enabled, enter an <a href = \"http:\/\/support.google.com\/accounts\/bin\/answer.py?hl=en&#038;answer=185833\">application specific password<\/a>.\n<li>Using Google Play, uninstall and reinstall Gmail and Sound Search.  Although I didn&#8217;t see this documented, I also had to reinstall Amazon Mobile, Chrome, Google Play Music, Google Voice, ROM Manager and YouTube.  I ended up going through the apps list one by one to check everything.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The whole process took about three hours including the usual household interruptions and a 45 minute wait to download GApps.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note, this isn&#8217;t the most direct way to update, it&#8217;s only the path I followed.
