(This may have been broken in an earlier DSM release, because I was quite a few versions out of date when I upgraded.) The software is still on the NAS <a href=\"http:\/\/www.familytidings.com\/blog\/?p=754\">as I installed it<\/a>. If I go to <code>\/usr\/local\/etc\/rc.d<\/code> and run<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><code>pyTivo.sh start<\/code><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>it runs fine, so the software is OK, but the startup script isn&#8217;t getting run by <code>init<\/code>. I found <a href=\"http:\/\/forum.synology.com\/enu\/viewtopic.php?f=27&amp;t=48260\">a post in the Synlogoy Forums about the locations of start-up scripts<\/a>. The solution is to put the pyTivo service script in <code>\/usr\/syno\/etc\/rc.d<\/code>. With the software installed as above, I did this on the NAS:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><code>mv \/usr\/local\/etc\/rc.d\/pyTivo.sh \/usr\/local\/pyTivo\/.<\/code><br \/>\n<code>ln -s \/usr\/local\/pyTivo\/pyTivo.sh \/usr\/syno\/etc\/rc.d\/S99pyTivo.sh<\/code><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then I rebooted the NAS and confirmed pyTivo was running at <code>http:\/\/&lt;<em>NAS&gt;<\/em>:9032\/<\/code><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since updating my Synology DS411+II to DSM 5, pyTivo doesn&#8217;t run when the NAS starts.
