{"id":1626,"date":"2021-05-16T06:54:55","date_gmt":"2021-05-16T11:54:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.familytidings.com\/blog\/?p=1626"},"modified":"2021-05-16T06:54:55","modified_gmt":"2021-05-16T11:54:55","slug":"backwards-natural-horizontal-scrolling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.familytidings.com\/blog\/?p=1626","title":{"rendered":"Backwards Natural Horizontal Scrolling"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On a Thinkpad laptop with Ubuntu 20, I switched to Natural Scrolling, but was confused to find that, although vertical scrolling worked as expected, horizontal scrolling was unchanged, resulting in a very unnatural experience.  It turns out that the culprit was a old input driver that was probably carried along as this laptop was upgraded over the years.  The correct driver (xserver-xorg-input-libinput) was already installed, so the fix was to uninstall the old one:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-input-synaptics<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>then log out and back in again.
