To alter the setting of the computer’s power button in Ubuntu 14, you’ll need the gnome-tweak-tool package. Once installed, it’ll be in the Launcher as “Tweak Tool”.
Under “Tweaks” on the left, select “Power”. From there you can change the Power Button Action.
